We are a London-based translation company, but we are different from others in many ways.
What you can expect from us
Prompt payment. Our maximum payment term is 30 days from end of the month in which we receive your invoice. However, we may pay you earlier than this.
Close partnership with you to ensure that your queries are answered quickly. Support is provided if you work on a project requiring the use of translation memory software. Relevant glossaries will also be provided as necessary.
Return of fair and honest feedback on your work (if you require it from us). We will be honest with you, so please be open and receptive about our comments. We welcome your feedback in return.
What we expect from you
Excellent writing skill and good understanding of the source language as well as the cultures in which the source and target languages are spoken.
Acceptance of work within your ability - please be honest with us, and take on jobs within your ability. No work can be subcontracted without our prior approval.
Compliance with the codes of professional ethics stipulated by the Institute of Linguists and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
We are always in need of conscientious translators of good Chinese and English skills, especially those from Taiwan and Singapore. Knowledge of specialist areas such as engineering, finance and medicine will be an added asset. Interpreters with a good command of English and less commonly spoken Chinese dialects, e.g. Fukkienese and Hakka, are welcome to join our freelance interpreters' database. Freelance Positions
As our translation work in law and finance grows, owing to the high quality of work we deliver to our clients, we are now seeking to expand our panel of freelance specialists to translate, revise and edit highly technical Chinese and English texts. The successful candidates will have to be qualified practitioners, who have good command of English and Chinese writing skills, in the following disciplines:
- Medicine / Pharmacy/Biochemistry
- Automotive / Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Software / IT
